The Three Horizons model, originally developed by Bill Sharpe, will help you facilitate a shared thinking about the future in ways that spark action. It allows you to talk about the needed change as transition from one prevalent way of doing things, to a new emerging way.

As opposed to our back-tracking activity, this model emphasis the fluid transitions from one way of doing things to a new one. If you think big, that could mean the transition from one systemic model or culture to a new and better one.

How

Draw a model of the 3 Horizons on a whiteboard or on paper (see card front). Start by inputting a short description of your preferred future in Horizon 3. Then facilitate a discussion around the following questions:
